In collaboration with the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), Direct Relief has designed these incredible Midwife Kits. These kits represent one of the most impactful projects we have had the privilege to join forces with Direct Relief on.
This marks the fourth year that the Haiti Health Network has been distributing these kits in Northern Haiti. This year, we have been blessed with the opportunity to distribute 35 instrument kits, and 55 Consumable kits.
Each Instrument kit includes a wide array of instruments, including fetal, adult, and pediatric stethoscopes, resuscitation kits for both adults and infants, forceps, weighing scales, suction devices, and an assortment of other essential tools.
Each consumable kit contains 34 vital items to support 50 births. These encompass crucial supplies such as umbilical clamps, alcohol, syringes, suture kits, gloves, IV kits, catheter kits, and indispensable medications.
This month we distributed kits to 29 healthcare facilities throughout the Nord and Nord-Est departments. When distribution is complete, we will have distributed materials to support 2,750 births. This is a testament to the importance of partnerships. Through our partnership with Direct Relief these Midwife Kits will impact the lives of thousands of mothers and babies.
